Ryan Sciacca, who has been a mainstay of Chorley AC's U15s this year, ran in the English Schools Cross Country Championships at Loughborough this weekend and produced an excellent performance.

The South East Lancs. Cross Country presentations for 2008/09 season saw an excellent prize winner for Chorley in Luke Betts who finished first in the U15s. However it could have been so much better as it was a frustrating experience for Sean Wareing in the U20s with two first places but unable to complete due to injury and also Tom Booth in the U17s who could of snatched a medal if persistent injuries had not robbed him of finishes.
However 17 athletes ran for CAC with 7 completing the series with 5th Ryan Sciacca(U15s), 5th Les Paul(Vet 60), 6th Mike Coppin(Vet 60), 14th Paul Wareing (Vet 40), 20th David Taylor(Vet 40), 21st Michael Murray(Vet 50) .

Please note that the Annual General Meeting will be held in St Peter’s Club, Eaves Lane, Chorley at 7.00 for 7.30pm on Thursday 26th March 2009. The Presentation Evening will follow the AGM. This is the most important event of the year and all members are strongly urged to attend. Anyone else interested in learning more about the club is cordially invited..

The Haigh Hall relays are being held on 21/3/2009. Entry is for teams of 4, so Chorley AC are looking for volunteers to run. Please let either myself or Stuart know via this message board or in person at any of the training sessions. People you have expressed an interest so far include, Simon, Henry, Paul W, Rick, Mike C and Stuart.

Chorley Athletic Club are holding their AGM and Celebration of Sporting Achievements at St. Peter's Club, Eaves Lane, Chorley on Thursday 26 March.
The evening starts at 7 for 7.30 pm beginning with the AGM, followed immediately by the Celebration Evening.
All existing Chorley AC members are invited, as well as anyone wishing to find out more about the club.
This is a major event in the calendar so all members are asked to support the evening - they may even win an award!"

The highly acclaimed Roddlesworth Roller Multi terrain race held over 6 miles takes place this coming weekend (8 March starting at 11.00 am). The Roller is the oldest multi terrain race in the area and boasts a course record of under 30 minutes.
Equally as important is the oldest and largest young athletes race held over 2 miles, the Daffodil Doddle, which has a course record time of 9 minutes 48 secs. Prizes in this race are available for local primary, secondary and club teams. The race starts at 12.30 pm.

Hey guys just a quick one to let ya know I'm goin the Uk championships and European Trials this weekend! Although I didn't quite manage the qualifying standard of 12.30m-I only got 12.23m my coach Carl managed to speak to them and they've decided to invite me then i can go for the experience!!! I'll update ya on how it goes and fingers crossed-by the way highlights are on channel 4 so ya might just see Chorley AC up there cos i will of course be wearing my CAC vest!!!!!! It'l be the last name on the results list i'm sure but hopefully i'll take alot from the experience!!!

The Great North XC Championship is planned for Staurday 24th January 2009. Chorley AC want to submit some teams, and the names have to be with the organisers by Monday 25th December. All entries must be submitted by the team manager (Barry Chester). £4.00 for senior and under 20s, and £3.50 for all other ages. Please let Barry, Stuart or Mike know if you want to run.
