Just to let you all know i also came 10th at the uk championships at the weekend-jumped 12.45m which was my equal pb on my first jump. still not happy though wanted about 12.70m. But the best news Peter Stanley is coming down soon to mentor my coach Carl.

Wesham Interclub race is on Monday 20th July @ 19:30. The clubhouse is closed, but the car park is open. There is limited toilet facilities and no changing rooms. Butties will be at the Lane Ends pub (Weeton Road, PR4 3DH). Good luck to all club runners :-)

Well done to Eloise Manger who threw her javellin 42.59m to secure 10th place in the UK Trials in Birmingham during the weekend.

Well done to Kath (my wife) and Anya (my daughter) who both successfully completed the Leyland Race for Life 5K with 2,100 other women on Sunday. For both it was their first 5K; on a off road circuit which was basically the winter XC course (without as much mud). The winning time was about 23mins (slowed by the terrain and over 2000 runners and walkers blocking the paths!), and Anya finished about 5mins later (and probably in top 50) despite having to stop and take off her trackie bottoms after one lap (losing at least 1min and many places). Kath had never run up to 3 weeks ago, and still finished in about 33mins.

The Horwich Jubilee race saw Dave Kershaw 76th(33:44) just ahead of Rick Cordwell 77th(33:55) with John Swift 119th(40:19) the first vet 65 and Phil McCullagh 127th(42:01) all taking the 9th team place.

Chorley AC's Steven Wilde put aside his preference for road racing to do the 10K Cuerden Badger Trail run finishing in a time of 55 mins ahead of Mike Coppin in 64 mins who escaped from Les Paul finishing in 66mins. Results

The 3rd Inter-Club race is by Preston(4.9 miles) on Wednesday 10th June at 19:30 from the Vernon Carus social club on Factory Lane, Penwortham. I am unfortunately away in Oxford for the week so I hope you all turn out, do exceptionaly well and enjoy all the chocolate(one of them works for Mars!).
