Senior veteran John Swift was Chorley AC's only competitor in the Tour of Pendle 17 mile fell race where he came 289th(4:37:21) and though not currently running at his best was not amused to be the second vet70 to a Horwich athlete and to be just pipped by his brother Eddie!

chorley ac juniors supported the south east lancs league on sat although missing ryan and joe, the ones that ran did realy well with another 1st u13 boy from fergus tallon and a 1st u15boy from adam sciacca supported in 6th place by ben ramsay,luke betts completed the day with another fine run for 1st u17 youth well done to you all

On a fine autumnal Saturday afternoon, Chorley AC Chairman and International John Payn produced a seasons best to win the Handicap Cup again at Simster. Held over an accurate 5K course with perfect weather conditions, John produced his best time of the year to finish in 33 min 31 sec. Promotions Officer Terry Dickenson said "John was delighted with his win, but is looking for faster times next year as he heads of for international duty. The club are proud that John has produced some of the greatest sporting achievements that Chorley has seen, and look forward to his next major success."

I do not have the address for the Kendal event, but I do have these directions...
Leave the M6 at Jct 36. Take the A65 towards Kirky Lonsdale for about 500m and then "turn north at the first roundabout on the Kendal road. In about a mile, opposite the Crooklands Hotel on your right, turn left on the road towards Milnthorpe. The event is on your right just before the flyover over the A590."

XC fans you therefore have overall 6(MidLancs), 4(SE Lancs) & 4(Red Rose) XC races with only 1 clash so a possible 13 races for £7(pre entered)/£9(late entry). Added to these are 9/1/10-Lancs Champs(Blackburn), 23/1/10-Northern Champs(Blackburn) & 27/2/10-National(Leeds). Total of 16 races....should be fit for the summer !!

Finally the Mid.Lancs XC dates are - 10/10/09-Kendal, 28/11/09-Sefton Park(reebok), 19/12/09-Townley Park, 16/1/10-TBA, 13/2/10-Hyndburn & 6/3/10-Barrow. There are no individual fees which are paid by the Club. Junior runner Olivia Christopher came 59th out of 111 runners at the Run Preston 2.5k race on Sunday 27th Sept. Olivia managed to finish the hilly course in 15 minutes beating her time from last year. Once again she managed to beat her Dad who trailed behind in 60th place!
