Meghan, Dominic and Scott made the trip over to Leeds to run in the Jane Tomlinson 'Run for All' fun runs. Meghan and Dominic did the 1.5 mile race for 9-16 year olds and did well to finish in the top 200 from about 1000 runners, even with Meghans sore ankle. Scott ran in the 1 mile race for under 9s, and had to have a parent run with him (or rather desperately try and keep up!). He ran a great race to overtake those who had started too fast as usual, overtook them by half way and went on to win the race by 30-40 metres, with about 500 children running it!! Unfortunately I didn't clock the time as I was too busy trying too keep up!

Just a huge thank you to all those that rallied round and helped for the Park race during Terry's absence particulary Lyn & Peter Moir for the timekeeping, Pat Keene & Jonathan Betts on numbers, Maurice, Stuart & Simon for course set up/down, Kath Townsend & JP on registration and for all those that turned out to marshall. I think we got away with it and all went without disaster !! Hope to see you all for a repeat performance on 13th May for the next Park race ??

Scott Gouldthorpe ran in the 2nd round of the English Junior Fell Championships at Coiners Fell. A tougher course than Pendle for the Under 10s with 2 ascents and a strong wind blowing up the valley he ran a good race to finish strongly in 24th out of 56 (but results tbc), and was even more pleased to grab a double mars bar out of the lucky dip bag at the end !! :-)

we asked a few years ago when jan mayor was running well if she could run in the vets team they said no the team still won a medal but would have been better with jan in that team i think that if you were born in the old lancashire and ran first claim for a club in the new boundry then why not after all you can run from the I O MAN

Dave T you can still run in the Lancs Champs as a guest(which would be good for me as I wouldn't have to award you assessed points for being excluded)but you could not win a county place or medal. However I will put forward a guest medal suggestion.

just a suggestion for the lancs champs, couldnt they embed the mid lancs fixture into the lancs champs, or better still let us born and bred Warringtonian Lancastrians take our rightful place in the starting line up.

Lancs AA are concerned about Club support at their County Champs races, particularly XC, and have asked for CAC's comments & suggestions. At a league XC you will get 600-800 competitors but at the champs only 200-250. They are looking at possible changes of :-
(i)Jnr team medals + 2(for other team members)
(ii)Free T shirts
(iii)Vet team awards 40/50/60
(iv)'B' team awards
(v)Reduced entry fee
If anyone has any comments or suggestions please give them to me for a reply to the Lancs AA.
