Although, in the first senior male XC @ Leigh, our 11th place beat the Harriers' 13th place, a combined effort would have seen us take 6th place. In the male vets, where our 8th place beat their 11th, a joint effort would have returned 5th. As for the women's races - a duel effort would have produced results! Benefits are obvious in all categories - There's strength in numbers.

Points taken - I'm glad I commented. I too have been a member of both clubs (AC -82-c87 and 2010> and Harriers c87-93) and I too would love to see the two clubs back together whatever we are called. Go for it.

Message for all primary and junior members. As from this Thursday 13th Oct track training will only take place on the weeks when there is no cross country race at the weekend.
Note to parents there will be no Monday night training 24th Oct (half-term) and 31st Oct (Halloween).
There will be no Tuesday night training for juniors Tuesday 1st Nov or Thursday 3rd Nov as i am away for a few days.

I think the word Tri is needed as cycling and swimming are different to all forms of running. Furthemore it alerts any current or budding triathlete that the club will cater for them.

I dont think the word tri matters at all, it is a unique event which demands a lot of time and dedication ! l personally would welcome them back with open arms, if it does bother you just think how many times have you seen Chorley Harriers listed on results sheets or spoken of as Chorley Harriers and Tri Club ?

I guess the 'tri' shows the club to be friendly to cycling/ swimming, whereas some athletic clubs may not be... Just a thought anyway..

Surely 'Athletic' covers everything. Triathlon adds nothing. If it is to be added to the club name, why not then call it Chorley Road Runners, Hill, Fell, Trail and Cross Country, Triathlon, Walking and Track and Field Athletics Club, as all have an equal place in the ideals of the club?!

For anyone that isn't aware - no track training on Thursday 28th. Meet at Rivington + Blackrod School instead at the earlier time of 6.30.
Don't know what the score is for any junior training on that night though - can anyone confirm?

Message for the Primary group. There will be no training on Tuesday evenings after the 20th Sept and no Thursday night training at Horwich track after 15th Sept for any child younger than school year 3. This is for Health and Safety reasons; as the nights will be getting darker soon. Training will continue for any age on Monday evenings at Holy Cross during term time.Please contact me if you need any more information. Many thanks Jan.
