Northern Track #1 Oldham
A sunny day in Oldham greeted a small track and field team from Chorley.Sole lady, Anna Peers cruised to victories in discus, javelin and shot putt. A PB points total was claimed by Rick Cordwell with wins in triple jump, 110m high hurdles, hammer B, and seconds in 300m steeplechase, 400m hurdles and long jump. Para-olympian Graeme Ballard grabbed 2nd in 4x100 (with John Wright, Ryan Sciacca and Rick Cordwell) and 200m B, and a 3rd in 100m B final.
Youngster Kian Davis was 3rd 1500m, 1st in the triple jump B and 2nd in the 4x400 (with Rick Cordwell, Ryan Sciacca and Simon Townsend). Ryan Sciacca was 2nd in javelin and 800m, and 3rd in 200m and 400m. His father Marco was 2nd and 3rd in the javelin and 5000M B finals. Saving himself for internationals later in the year, John Wright still took 4th in 100m and 2nd in the 400m B. Andrew Ramsey threw a 2nd in hammer, and jumped to 2nd in the long jump B. Filling in spaces, Simon Townsend was 3rd in 5000m, and 2nd in the 1500m B. Also gaining points were the officials of Stuart Swann, Kath Townsend and Janet Brookes.
