The second of Chorley’s ‘Road/Trail Grand Prix’ Series down at Smithills Country Park in Bolton - coming just a week later saw another good turnout for Chorley especially with Haweswater Half Marathon and Muddy Bottoms events on the same weekend. Points and pride were at stake for this week’s event.

This week it was Rob Walsh’s turn to bring home the Chorley pack in a time of 31:24 with Tim Johnstone and Martin Quinn following close behind and taking 4^th place for the Men’s team but taking an impressive 1^st place in the Men’s Vet category.

Whilst the ladies; Lara Dickinson came in 1^st for the Chorley ladies in 39:37 and Racheal Gibson 42:10 taking 2^nd. With no 3^rd lady they were unable to field a team.

Another great turnout for Chorley with 14 runners – in near perfect conditions for running (well, for a trail race and if you like getting a little muddy and running up hills) ;-)

308 runners took part in this event with the eventual winner coming in at a time of 28:04.
