This, the first of our own ‘Road/Trail Grand Prix’ Series saw a big turnout for Chorley with Martin Quinn leading the pack home for the Chorley men in an time of 35:11 with Rob Walsh and Keith Johnston coming within a whisper 35:16 & 35:28 respectively taking 4^th place for the men’s team. Whilst the ladies; Laura Murphy came in 1^st for the Chorley ladies in 41:33 with Helen Harper (44:44) & Lara Dickinson (45:29) taking 2^nd and 3^rdpositions and taking ladies 2^nd team place.

What a fantastic turnout for Chorley with 23 runners – in near perfect conditions for running. Talking to quite a few of the Chorley runners after the race today with a lot mentioning PB’s from last year or they would have been on track for a new 10k PB. Is this all the ‘winter’ training paying off, could this be due the excellent turnouts and coaching at Holy Cross on Monday nights!!! I think so.

244 runners took part in this event with the eventual winner coming in at a time of 29:48.
