Abbey Village and Chorley Athletic and Triathlon's 27th running of the Roddlesworth Roller and Daffodil Doddle races was held on a cold, wet day in March. But, this did not deter more than 400 entrants who greeted the adverse conditions with a smile.
Horwich's Michael Clayton took first place, but Chorley's Julian Goudge was not far behind in 5th. The top 30 also included Chorley runners, Jonathan Man, Martin Kershaw, Michael Hancock, Thomas Kershaw and Ian Leigh. Paul Bass just beta 2nd female Josie Hull home, followed closely by Bill Beckett, Andrew Clough and Darren Bowles. Chorley won the Ladies team prize, and were second in the Male and Male Vet Team competitions.
Unattached Nathan Townsend led home the field in his last year running the Daffodil Doddle. First back for a 40+ Chorley team were Jacob Hughes and Daniel Lilley in 6th and 7th, followed closely by Olivia Leigh who just missed first female by 1 second, and Jack Hughes.
