Junior Tri Newsletter

Hope you've all had a lovely Easter break & enjoyed some of the beautiful weather we've had.

Those of you who are already involved in swim & cycle training should have had a reminder about fees & sessions for the next half term. If you'd like to get involved, or know someone who'd like to join in, there is space as follows:

Wednesday - Eaves Green Community Centre
6pm cycle training Yr 4 & 5
7pm cycle training Yr 6 & above

Thursday - Brinscall swimming pool
5.30 - swim training 
6.30 - swim training - more advanced
(Coach Jonathan will assess prior to & on first night which group the athlete is best suited to)

Running - next introductory session for new athletes 12th May at Holy Cross.

Nicola will be doing some joint run & transition sessions over the summer, more details to follow.

Events:
Astley Park mile race series - First Wednesday of month (except June)

Track & Field - Primary age - Primary League at Robin Park, Wigan:
25th April,9th may,6th June, and the medal meet is 4th July. £5 fee for all 4 events. They are held fridays about 6pm until 8pm
Be at wigan arena before 6.15 on the 25th april to register with entry form and £5 which pays for all 3 meetings and medal meet.Enter 3 events,either 2xtrack and 1xfield or 1xtrack and 2xfield. We will be there to register , take money and give race numbers out from 6pm - Melanie

Year 6 & over - Mid Lancs event - 26th April - Wigan, 10th May - Preston

Lancashire Track & Field Championships - 24-25th May. Entries must be submitted by 3rd May. Year 6 and above.

Triathlon events - There are a lot of events in the North West series coming up, but the next Chorley event is not until Westhoughton Aquathlon as the Salt Ayre Duathlon has moved from May to 31st August. Development group meeting - A meeting to discuss the Sport England grant and the development of the junior triathlon session will be held Tuesday 29th April at the Fire Station, Washington Hall, 7.15 for 7.30pm start. If you'd like to be involved in some way in the next steps, please let us know, even if you're unable to attend the meeting.

Well done to the 16 juniors who've already taken part in triathlons so far this season, they've all done amazingly well & have shown true commitment to complete and do their best.

Thanks to everyone who's helped make a fantastic start to the section in the club. We're looking forward to the next 6 months of developments and supporting more young people in the area to get active and have fun with their friends.
