Mid Lancs XC 2013/14
Mid Lancs XC #6 Kendal 01/02/2014
The last Mid Lancs XC race was unusually warm and dry. U11 girls Amber Boardman, Isobelle Farron and Alice Singleton ran strongly as a team finishing 17, 21 and 27th respectively. U11 boys Jack Hughes and and Daniel Lilley both rased well to achieve top 20 placings, and Jack's brother Ben came 15th in his U13s race. U13s Caitlin McCarrick and Charlotte Lavin 23rd and 36th respectively, with U15 sister Hannah Lavin finishing 14th in her race.
Christine Sweatman ran really strongly to finish 67th in the ladies race. First back fro the me was Dave Biddulph, followed closely by Phil Iddon and Paul Wareing. Simon Townsend, Phil McCullach and Les Paul made up the 6 man team that finished 21st overall, and 11th Vet team.
Mid Lancs XC #5 Blackburn 08/02/2014

A windy day with a muddy course provided a challenge for Chorleys' athletes at the Mid Lancs XC meeting in Wtton Park. First back for Chorleys' U11 girls was Olivia Leigh in 15th, followed by Isobelle Farron, Amber Boardman, Alice Singleton, Freya Burton, Eloise Beattie and Layla Alton. Top 20 finishes for U11 boys Daniel Lilley and Jack Hughes, followed by Joe Bowles and Martin Rimmer. U13 Caitlin McCarrick just missed a top 20 finish, and Ben Hughes and Josh Letch finished 15th and 21st in their race.
Chorley ladies team finished 9th, and were led home by Lisa Johnson, just ahead of Vicky Burton and Christine Sweatman. V40 Mark Ellithorn had a good run to finish in 69th, followed by Paul Wareing, Bill Beckett, Warren Cook, Paul Jackson, Simon Townsend, Barry Chester, Graham Schofield and Phil McCullagh. Chorley male vets teams finished 10th and 19th.
Mid Lancs XC #4 Barrow 11/01/2014

Mid Lancs XC #3 Hyndburn 14/12/2013
Sticky mud, high winds and rain provided a challenge for the Chorley team at the latest Mid Lancs XC event in Hyndburn.
For the ladies, U20 Anya Townsend was first back, with marathon runner Alison Parkinson not far behind. Despite falling, U13s Caitlin McCarrick just beat Alisha Ibitoye, both finishing at the of the field. Solo performer U11 Amber Boardman performed admirably in the difficult conditions.
Great performance by U11 Jack Hughes and Daniel Lilley who crossed the line together in the top 10, followed by teammate Tom Perls. Like his brother, U13 Ben Hughes finished in the top 10, followed by brother Jack and Henry Wilson. The seniors were brought home by Mark Ellithorn, with Dave Biddulph not far behind. Then came the trio of Jonathan Burgess, Paul Wareing and Bill Beckett, followed by Warren Cook, Michael Hendry, Dave Kershaw, Simon (I fell again) Townsend and Phil McCullagh. The vets teams claimed 10th and 26th positions.

Mid Lancs XC #2 Sefton Park 23/11/2013
A lesser turnout than hoped for was experienced for the Mid-Lancs XC at Sefton Park, Liverpool by Chorley athletes with the U11s being contested by Amber Boardman(41st), Jack Hughes(19th) and Martin Rimmer(38th). The U13 girls were 1 short of a team with Alisha Ibitoye(38th), Caitlin McCarrick(44th) and Emily Hunter(47th) but the boys were 5th team with Ben Hughes(16th), Jack Wilson(25th), Scott Gouldthorpe(33rd), Henry Wilson(40th) & Nick Draper(44th). Only 2 ladies ventured forth with Christine Sweatman(84th) and Alison Fowler(96th). Chorley's men were Dave Biddulph(129th), Paul Wareing(136th), Bill Beckett(152nd) challenged by Phil Iddon(153rd), Jonathon Burgess(157th) just behind then the flying Barry Chester(210th), Simon Townsend(216th) and Graham Schofield(227th) - they were 28th team overall, 11th Vet40 & 12th Vet50 teams.

Mid Lancs XC #1 Townley Park 26/10/2013
A typical autumn day encouraged about 30 Chorley runners to the Mid Lancs Cross Country meeting in Burnley's Townley park. The U11s were first on the course, with Amber Boardman and Sadie Kirk coming home 29 and 55th, and Jack Hughes, Martin Rimmer and Oliver Murphy running well for 27,32 and 53 positions respectively. Caitlin McCarrick brought the U13 girls home in 25, followed closely by Alisha Bibotoye, Emily Hunter and Charlotte Lavin. Result of the day was 4th for Chorley's team of Ben Hughes(13), Luke Hunter(29),Scott Gouldthorpe(32) and Nicholas Draper(34).
The senior ladies team of Laura Murphy(48), Nicki Rushton(68) and Alison Fowler(111) were the 22nd ladies team. Tom Kershaw(132) was first home for the men, followed by Paul Wareing(149),Phil Iddon(161),Andrew Clough(162),William Beckett(164),Robert Walsh(170), Jonathan Burgess(174),Warren Cook(224),Paul Bass(232),Barry Chester(235),Simon Townsend(262),Phil McCullagh(275),Henry Minorczyk(277), and John Swift(190).
