CATC 25th Roller and Doddle 2013

Abbey Village CP School/CATC 25th Roddlesworth Roller and Daffodil Doddle
in aid of Abbey Village Parents Association

POST EVENT INFORMATION
On behalf of Abbey Village CP School and Chorley Athletic and Triathlon Club, many thanks top all heroic runners, volunteers, Tony Bolton, John Schofield, United Utilities, St John Ambulance, RAYNET and Lancashire Police that braved the icy wind.

Prize List
Note : Doddle Race's 1st UKA club was Blackburn Harriers not Bolton United Harriers because of an incorrect club associated with one runner. Bolton will keep a prize for 2nd and Blackburn will be sent a prize for 1st.
Apologies, if the Doddle results are not perfect but the timekeepers were hampered by many runners not wearing numbers, covering them up with their coats (because it was cold) and some people not going through the finish line. Apparently, this happens every year so we will be thinking about a better method for 2014 (any ideas gratefully received). Thank you for your patience.

Despite an icy wind, about 200 runners ran in each of the 25th Roddlesworth Roller and Daffodil Doddle multi-terrain races.

The 9.1km, hilly senior race was won by Bolton’s Anthony Valentine in 33.40, but Vet40 Mike Chalfont(Chorley) and Rob Jackson(Horwich) were not far. The team of Horwich RMI just pipped Chorley’s strong team of Mike Chaldfont, Jullian Goudge and Andrew Clough to win the Male and Male Vets team prizes. 1st female back was Horwich’s Lindsey Brindle in time of 39.07 and 12th place overall. F50 Phillippa Walsh (Preston) had a great run in 26th overall, and a strong 2nd lady position. However, the team prize was taken by Chorley's team of Nicola Raby, Nicki Rushton and Nicola Ingram, with Red Rose Runners and Preston Harriers tied for 2nd place.

The Daffodil Doddle junior race was won by Harry Paige in a time 10:13, and Lucy Lennon was first girl back and 9th overall. Byron Baker was first back for Chorley, followed closely by Jack Wilson and Ben Hughes. Not far behind was Evie Barclay who was first girl back for Chorley. Blackburn Harriers took the Club prize, Canon Slade took the Seconday School Prize and Chorley St Mary’s team of Liam Blackwell(Preston), Emily Hunter(Chorley) and Caitlin McCarrick(Chorley) won the Primary School prize. First back for Abbey Village CP School were John Rawlinson and Caitlin Malloy.
