A small band of Chorley athletes took on the first SE Lancs XC at Heaton Park in its centenary year. In the U11s Luke Hunter and Caitlin McCarrick both ran well for 9th place with Emily Hunter seconds later in 11th place. The seniors had Paul Wareing(71st), Simon Townsend(88th), Phil McCullagh(159th), Eddie Murray(163rd) with Mike Coppin(164th) closing proceedings. Chorley was the 11th senior team & the 10th V50 one.
Saturday 17th November 2012 - Clayton Vale
Results
Despite the amount of recent rain Clayton Vale's course was relatively mud free in the second of the SE Lancs XC fixtures where Scott Gouldthorpe(9th) took a second out of Luke Hunter(10th) in the U11s with Cai Smith(22nd) importantly weighing in to give Chorley the 4th team position. Emily Hunter for the girls was a good 12th. Fergus Tallon ran well in his new U17 category for 5th place. Chorley's senior team of Paul Wareing(59th), Henry Minorczyk(115th), Barry Chester(119th), Phil McCullagh(127th), Tom Hilton(132nd) & Mike Coppin(133rd) took Chorley to 11th team, 13th vet40 team, 8th V50 team and 2nd V60 team due principally to Henry's 1st V65 place.
