Photos by Martin HarringtonThe midweek Astley Park(4.4) race in memory of blind runner Mike Ogle had a big 200 plus field with Paul Wareing(37th) leading home the Chorley runners with pretty even gaps to Jonathan Higson(41st), Dave Biddulph(50th), Andrew Clough(56th), Dawn Atkins(64th), Robert Mayor(81st) and Steve Williams(85th). A tight group of Liam Boardman(104th), Mark Bond(107th) and Jonathan Burgess(108th) then followed trailed by Lea Verrechio-Nelson(122nd). Nicki Rushton was 144th, Anya Townsend(183rd) just ahead of dad Simon(184th) with James Shuttleworth(194th) and Tom Hilton(203rd). Chorley was 6th team in both men & women. Anya was 1st J17, Dawn 2nd lady, Lea 3rd jnr with Paul & Nicki both 4th V45s. Evan Cook of Blackburn Harriers is the first holder of the Mike Ogle trophy. Chorley won the series from St Helens with Lea being the only constant Chorley athlete as 2nd lady and 1st Jnr.

The May Chorley 4.4 race in Astley Park had a good return for the home Club with Briony Curtis(23rd), Dawn Atkins(34th) and Tara Bleasdale(35th) taking the ladies team title with a 1, 2, 3 placing. The men Michael Chalfont(10th), Robert Mayor(17th), Jonathan Mann(20th) & Steve Williams(26th) were the mens 4th team. Andrew Clough was 31st(1st V50), Simon Townsend(41st), Lea Nelson-Verrechia(53rd) and 1st Jnr, Phil McCullagh(75th) and Eddie Murray(78th) and 1st V70.
