Rivington Pike Fell Races
Chorley juniors were out in force on the slopes of Rivington Pike fell last weekend. Best result of the day was 3rd place for U10 Daniel Liley, only 20 seconds behind the winner. Vaughn Green also crept into the top 10, followed by Joe Bowles in 33rd. Isabelle Farron was the first U10 girl back, followed very closely by Lucy Gouldthorp, Alice Singleton and Megan Leigh. U8 Owen Kellett had a great run to came home in the top 10 with a time of 4.51. U12s Xavier Greenhalgh led Chorley team home in 20th 10.54, Oliver Gouldthorp and Martin Rimmer. Caitlin McCarrick just came home ahead of Olivia Leigh in position 39 and 41, followed by Robyn Lee, Emily Warren, Lauren and Amelia Bowles. In the Under 14s, Jack Wison was 39th back in a time 15:53.
First back for the Chorley senior Pike runners was Jullian Goudge in 24th and a time of 19:27. Dominic Raby(20:23) was less that a minute behind, followed by William Beckett(24:02), Michael Hancock(24:37), Michael Hendry(27:12), Stephen Baker(28:20) and John Swift(31:42) who was 1st V70. 1st L55 lady was Christine Sweatman(31:45), followed by Jan Atkins(32:30) who was 1st L65. Phil McCullagh(32:38) was just behind Jan, followed by Les Paul(35:57) and Eddie Murray(29:15).
